What are we building? – Part 5

Welcome back once again to our continuing series on the Avatar Framework configurations. The configurations we’ll discuss today are two more ways we see the framework making use of web technology.

Our first web configuration basically served up the simple configuration’s single image which contained the GUI, Control Logic and Avatar Framework Services.

What are we building? – Part 4

Welcome back to our continuing series on the Avatar Framework configurations. The configuration we’ll talk about today has to do with how we see the framework making use of web technology.

Our first web configuration is a pretty simple one that draws off the Simple configuration we covered in the first article.

What are we building? – Part 3

We’re back again to talk about another variant of the distributed configuration. This configuration is really just an extension of the first distributed configuration. What we are showing here is that you can take advantage of the subscriber/publisher data mechanism and fully leverage distributed computing.

For example, if you want to build a scalable control system that controls multiple systems you can run an HVAC control application on one Beaglebone black and run a Lighting control application on another Beaglebone black.

What are we building – Part 2

It’s time for the next article on the Avatar Control System configurations. We are going to talk about the Distributed Configuration in this article. We begin to show how we can scale beyond the Simple Configuration. We show that we can have multiple remote sensors and also that we can remove the Control Application logic from the Smart Phone and place it on either a PC/Server or a Beaglebone black embedded SBC depending on the computing needs of the control logic.
