Well over the last couple of weeks there has been some buzzing on the net over the new Intel Edison board. I have to admit, when I saw it at first glance, I was seriously thinking that perhaps there is no reason to roll a custom sensor board from Miser Technologies to fulfill the Avatar remote sensor requirements.

Requirements – Part 5

Welcome back, in this requirements post we have the detailed requirements that were decomposed from the reworked top level requirements. We could probably spend more time trying to make the requirements more elegant but the payoff becomes diminished at a certain point. The requirements stated should be enough to continue on with the next phase of design which will be the SysML model.

Requirements – Part 4

Welcome back! Well, after putting together the top level Use Case Diagram in the last post, which was derived from the top level requirements, it was easy to see that we needed at least one more tweak to the top level requirements. It was apparent that we could clean up the connections on the Use Case Diagram by extending a sensor and actuator Use Case from a base subsystem Use Case that would handle the common stuff.
